Lead Interaction Designer • Jul 2015 - Jul 2017
Augmedix is a remote documentation and clinical support service pairing doctors with Google Glass and remote scribes. These scribes help chart, enabling accurate capture of medical info, and provide just-in-time guidance to help decision making: humanizing the patient experience by allowing the provider to move away from the computer and back to the patient.

As lead interaction designer at Augmedix amongst a team of 6 UX, I mentored juniors, helped develop strategy with founders, and landed multiple large scale design and research efforts.
My contributions
  • Led multi-method research with four teams in three cities in India, San Francisco, and remotely with partners in Bangladesh. Planned/executed 40 interviews, cross-tool heuristic eval, competitive analysis, mapping themes and  recommendations for leadership, defining roadmap
  • Grew remote Bangladesh UX team and junior UX team in San Francisco through hiring and mentoring, iterative design review, and guidance in leadership communication and process.
  • Drove design evolution and vision for Glass interface, Scribe portal, and service design improvements for end-to-end lifecycle of provider and scribe interactions: from training and onboarding, to executing, to enhancing provider workflows

"Jerry was a great teacher guiding me, a junior engineer, through  development of design tasks. He was really patient and kind answering any question I came up with. He mentored me by encouraging me to learn and understand not only the interface of design, but more of taking user experience into consideration so as to pursue the best."
