Founding a team to improve your puppy photo-taking experience, and helping shelters along the way.
The Puppy Snap, and application for iPhone, allows users to play a fun sound to get their dog’s attention, to take a photo. By partnering with shelters, Puppy Snap raises awareness of dogs to adopt through a public stream, and donates a portion of each purchase of the app to these shelters. In the same way, towards the future, it would allow users to donate to organizations providing a safe space for these animals.
As design co-founder, I founded the team to design and develop the application and delivered branding assets and interface designs across devices, as well as designing and developing a responsive website for the application, thepuppysnap.com, meeting weekly to discuss launch strategy, app store progress, and shelter partnerships across San Francisco.
Branding and marketing
To gain acceptance into the iOS app store, I created app assets including icons and marketing screenshots.
To help spread the word of The Puppy Snap, I created marketing posters and business cards.
Website design and development
As a designer with The Puppy Snap, I designed and develop put together a full-bodied, mobile-optimized, landing page, thepuppysnap.com. Based on an off-the-shelf HTML5 template, I further optimized with font icons and created graphic assets and photographs.
As the designer for The Puppy Snap, I was responsible for visual design and interaction flows throughout the iOS application. Modeling after the success of Instagram, we tried to incorporate Snap-specific actions like donate and calling shelter actions
In addition, I produced a variety of visual artifacts across devices including a variety of start-up puppy images
While The Puppy Snap has not been met with critical acclaim or a wide-spread audience, I’m very pleased to have been able to learn a bit more about the branding and marketing space for iOS as well as to work with an awesome team to deliver something unique to the world.
